Having the natural need to socialize, I choose the second option. I accepted the invite from a level 14 Blood Elf mage who went by the name of "Underwhere". He had a quest that needed finishing and quite frankly I did as well, so we both hunted our monsters together. He behaved fairly and seemed intelligent, however I couldn't help notice that he looted monsters very quickly without ever waiting for me to take a look at what was inside. Since he was a pretty nice guy, I let it slide.
We followed this routine for a bit, we ran into the boss monster of the area (unknown name, forgot to screeny it). It attacked him on sight and I started shooting heals his way to keep him alive, after which I shifted into bear form and attacked the boss alongside him. Several heals and a couple of potions later, we managed to defeat her...... and OMG the treasure was awesome! Well, from what little glimpse I got of it. According to my ninja-looting friend, he did most of the damage. Apparently that gives you looting rights even if your team needs the items.
Putting on a very polite attitude, I recommended that he read the World of Warcraft strategy guide books for some gaming tips. His response? A list of extremely high level characters he apparently owned, followed by the rather dull statement of "I doubt I need any tips...". I pressed further, explaining that leveling tips weren't necessarily what he would get out of it. When he asked what kind of tips were in the book, I simply stated "Etique" and left it at that.
To top it off, this story ends with a fight between 4 Witchwing Slayers, Underwhere and myself. These numbers were reduce very quickly to 4 Witchwing Slayers and myself when I realized Underwhere had high-tailed it to his HearthStone location, probably to avoid any possible death. Luckily, I did manage to kill them all.
Unlike a lot of stories, this one is unique and ended in a good way. I parted from him via whisper, shoving off to write this blog. Thanks for the story Underwhere, may you have many pleasant questing days and even more money for strategy guides!
Gameplay Tips:
- Sometimes it's more important to learn about how to play with people rather than how to play the game.
- Never EVER ninja-loot, especially on a boss.
- Don't run off when your team needs you.
